Natural remedies for mouth ulcers
Mouth ulcers are very frustrating. They cause severe pain while eating food.
Mouth ulcer or oral ulcer can appear on tongue or on the floor of the mouth. They may also occur inside of your cheeks or lips.
They can develop either as a single sore or clusters.
Normal reasons for the mouth ulcers are over heat in the body, stress, lack of proper oral or dental hygiene and smoking.
If your toothpaste has sodium lauryl suphate in it, you may have a chance of getting an oral ulcer. Oral ulcer is also can be an indication of vitamin B12 deficiency.
Certain food allergies or sensitivity issues can also lead to oral ulcer. Too much consumption of sugar and acidic foods may be another reason for frequent occurrence of mouth ulcer.
Here is a list of some natural and home remedies to treat mouth ulcers:
Apply the mixture of honey and amla powder on the ulcer to get relief from the pain. You can also use turmeric instead of amla powder to get instant relief.
Buttermilk cools your body and thereby suppresses the oral ulcer that is caused by over heat. So consume buttermilk two times daily.
Use the infusion of chamomile flowers as mouthwash to prevent and treat mouth ulcer. Chamomile has antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties.
Rinse your mouth with baking soda mixture made of one teaspoon of baking soda in a half cup of water. You can rinse daily twice or thrice.
Wash some basil leaves and chew them 2 to 3 times daily along with water. It is an effective home remedy to cure mouth ulcers.
Apply a wet tea bag on the affected area to get relief from the severe pain.
Crush the leaves of coriander or guava and apply the juice on mouth ulcers. It aids in healing the ulcer faster.
