Ties of India and Japan are growing: PM Modi
Prime Minister is in Japan for G20 Summit. This is his first visit to Japan as the Prime Minister in his second term.
The G20 Summit is being held at Osaka, Japan from June 27 to 29. PM Modi will be visiting several global leaders in this summit and discuss various global issues including terrorism.
During his visit to Japan, he met the Indian community in Kobe on the first day and talked about the ties of India and Japan.
PM Modi said the then Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Japan Prime Minister Yoshiro Mori gave a global outlook to the ties. Since then, the ties between both countries ranging from cars to bullet trains have been growing.
India once partnered with Japan to develop a car but today both countries are working together to develop a bullet train.
PM added that Japan played a crucial role in the economic progress of India.
PM lauded the role of Japan in developing Maruti car and the country’s contribution to India for giving its first yen loan which dates back to 1958.
In this context, PM revealed India’s progress in the space. India is going to launch moon mission Chanadrayaan 2 and is working on a manned mission to space Gaganyaan by 2022. The country is also working towards obtaining a space station.
This is PM Modi’s second public gather of the Indian community in foreign countries as the Prime Minister in his second term. He visited Sri Lanka in early June where he addressed the Indian community.
PM Modi visited several places in Japan with the Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe including Osaka, Tokyo, Kyoto, Yamanashi and Kobe. The Japanese PM Abe invited the Indian PM Modi to his home in Yamanashi.
