Food plays a vital role in improving your immunity. A nutritious diet not only helps prevent the infection but also in faster recovery.

Consumption of the below mentioned nutritious diet is essential:

  • Your diet should have all essential minerals and vitamins. Among them, vitamin C and D are crucial.
  • Your diet shall include vegetables and fruits. Try to have three to five servings a day.
  • Eat protein-rich foods like chicken, fish, eggs, milk, paneer, soy etc. Also, add foods that improve immunity and energy levels.
  • Try to have mini-meal several times a day.
  • Consume soft food. Do not consume leftover food, but discard it.
  • Eat fruits like oranges, apples, bananas and dry fruits like almonds, walnuts, raisins, pistachio etc.
  • Keep your body hydrated by drinking adequate water and fruit juices.
  • Drink warm water with basil leaves or mint to treat dry cough.

  • Avoid sugary drinks and coffee as they may lead to dehydration.
  • Since you are in the recovery phase, you should consume foods that help strengthen your muscles and immunity. Your diet should have all essential requirements like carbohydrates, proteins, fats, vitamins and minerals.
  • While consuming carbohydrates, add whole grains like ragi, oats etc.
  • A small amount of dark chocolate relieves you from stress and anxiety. It also improves your mood.
  • Note that healthy food helps you recover fast. Hence, eat a well-balanced diet.
  • Also, use vitamin supplements as prescribed.
  • Besides, breathing exercises and other physical activities like walking can help improve your recovery. However, while doing exercise, you should not go beyond your tolerance. In other words, start with mild to moderate exercises and continue as per your capability to do.
