Govt launches PM Viksit Bharat Rojgar Yojna to boost job creation
In a major push towards employment generation, the Union Government launched the Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rojgar Yojna (PMVBRY) on August 18, 2025.
The scheme, recently approved by the Cabinet, aims to create 3.5 crore new jobs across various sectors.
Announcing the launch, Labour Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya urged both first-time employees and employers to register and take full advantage of the scheme.
He said the goal is to promote formal employment, especially among fresh entrants to the job market.
The scheme is divided into two parts: Part A for employees and Part B for employers.
Under Part A, first-time employees are eligible for a one-time incentive. This amount equals the average of one month’s wages (Basic + DA), capped at ₹15,000.
The incentive will be paid in two instalments. To claim the benefit, employees must either register on the scheme’s official portal or upload their Universal Account Number (UAN) on the UMANG App.
Part B provides financial incentives to employers who hire first-time workers.
The incentives are offered under three income slabs:
- For employees earning ₹10,000 per month, employers will get ₹1,000.
- For those earning between ₹10,000 and ₹20,000, the incentive is ₹2,000.
- For employees with salaries up to ₹30,000, employers will receive ₹3,000.
These incentives are one-time payments aimed at reducing the cost of hiring.
Employers across sectors are eligible, provided they hire individuals registering for the first time in formal jobs.
Dr. Mandaviya said the scheme will encourage job creation, make the formal workforce more inclusive, and benefit millions of Indians entering employment for the first time.
Registration is simple and accessible. Interested individuals and companies can visit the portal or use the UMANG application to sign up.
The PM Viksit Bharat Rojgar Yojna marks a significant step in India’s employment strategy.
By supporting both employees and employers, it aims to stimulate hiring, lower entry barriers, and boost long-term economic growth.
