Improve your metabolism naturally
Metabolism is a chemical process that occurs in a living organism to maintain life. It can also be described as the burning of calories in your body.
The metabolic rate of every person varies and depends on various factors.
If your metabolic rate is high, then you have a lower risk of gaining weight.
Thus, metabolism plays a vital role in maintaining a normal weight.
Here are certain tips to improve your metabolism naturally:
- Drinking adequate water helps improve your metabolism. Drink at least 6 to 8 glasses of water a day to eliminate extra fat and toxins from your body.
- Breakfast sets your metabolism for the entire day. So eat your breakfast as early as possible. Thereafter eat small meal for every three hours. In other words, consume 4 to 6 times a day in small proportions rather than eating large amounts of meal.
- Fibre improves fat burning by up to 30 percent. It also helps you consume less meals and thus controls your weight. Hence, add at least 25 grams of fibre by consuming fibre rich veggies and greens.
- Avoid food that has large amounts of trans fats like fast-foods, biscuits, breads, fried foods, sweets etc.
- Exercise at least for 6 days a week. Walking or jogging for 2 to 3 km daily improves your metabolism.
- Avoid late night sleeps as studies showed that it increases visceral fat. Also make sure to sleep for at least 6 hours.
- Aerobic exercises prior to dinner will improve your metabolism in the evenings.
- Avoid skipping meals as it slows down the metabolic process.
- Protein intake stabilizes insulin secretion in the blood and boosts your metabolism. So, make sure to consume at least 70 grams of protein daily.
- Avoid crash diets as they slow up metabolism and lead to fat storage.
