Age is just a number if you have strong will and passion to do something. This Hyderabad woman is a good example of it.

Komala Devi launched a startup, Venica Herbals, at the age of 56 years. Now, she is 62 years old. She says that running a business is her dream, and she achieved it.

Venica Herbals offers organic skincare and hair care products. This D2C brand offers a wide range of products like hair packs, henna, hair oil, pure reetha and shikakai, hair shampoos, face wash, face pack, and many more. They are sold on the website of Venica and other eCommerce platforms like Amazon.

Komala Devi moved to Iran after her marriage, where she trained in many beauty treatment courses. Later, she chose a career in acting to feed her children after the death of her husband. After a few years, she learned advanced courses in electrolysis, hair and skin therapy, and obesity treatment.

Then she launched a beauty clinic. After a few years, her children settled. She wanted to develop her skills. Hence she was trained in many courses, including Ayurveda. Then she started experimenting with various formulas to make herbal and Ayurveda products without using any artificial preservatives.

She launched Venica Herbals in 2015 with an investment of ₹1 lakh and 11 Ayurvedic products. She expanded her business with additional capital of ₹15 lakhs.

The startup earns annual revenue of ₹15 lakhs. It has around 12 employees, and most of them are women.

Like other businesses, Venica Herbals also faced a hard time during the COVID-19 pandemic. Yet, products like organic turmeric were sold majorly and helped the business to sustain itself.

Venica hair oil is priced at ₹400, and a hair pack costs ₹500. The combo pack is available for ₹800.

Komala Devi aims to improve the annual turnover of the company to ₹50 lakhs in the next two years.
