LivingStone Stays supplies fruits and vegetables
LivingStone Stays is a hospitality startup. The startup collaborates with property owners to make contracts with them. It offers experiential stays and treehouses.
LivingStone Stays was founded by Chirag Bansal and Nidhi Bansal, brother and sister duo.
This Chandigarh-based startup offers unique stays. They started their venture in Chitkul, Himachal Pradesh, which is located at an altitude of 12,000 feet.
On average the company had 80 bookings each month, generating revenue of ₹8-10 lakh till the prevalence of COVID-19 in the country.
But, the coronavirus pandemic affected all sectors including the hospitality sector. The startup received zero bookings in March. This made them think to diversify their business model into new segments.
As a result, LivingStone Stays ventured into the fruit and vegetable business. The startup procures harvest directly from the farmers and supplies to buyers using a direct farm-to-fresh model.
Thus, it shortened the supply chain which reduced the spoilages and inefficiencies. Besides, LivingStone Stays ensures timely payments to the farmers, which is one of the most common issues in apple farming sector.
It makes regular and timely payments to apple farmers. The company started selling apples and now it is also supplying pears. It also wants to expand its services to provide cherries, tomatoes, cauliflower, and dry fruits.
They aim to generate ₹1 crore by selling apples. Besides, they have various business plans to maximize revenue.
LivingStone Stays also wants to offer stays in unexplored and offbeat destinations. Tourism and apples generate significant employment in Himachal Pradesh. Hence, the startup wants to make use of this opportunity.
They want to offer a unique experience to their customers by providing a farm-stay package which includes a stay in a wooden-chalet in an apple farm along with apple-picking experience.
