WhatsApp to roll out new Admin Review feature
Meta-owned WhatsApp is reportedly working on a new feature that aims to help group administrators better manage their groups.
The upcoming feature, called admin review, is said to provide group admins with tools to moderate their groups more effectively.
According to reports, group members will be able to report specific messages to the group admin once the feature is enabled.
When a member reports a message, an admin can review it. Besides, the admin can choose to delete it for everyone in the group if it violates the group’s rules or is inappropriate.
The new option will be available in the group settings section in the future. The reported messages will only be visible to group admins in a new section located within the app’s group info.
The ability to report messages to group admins is currently under development. It will be available to beta testers in a future app update.
This new feature will give group admins more control over their groups. It will also help them maintain a safer and more respectful environment.
This new development comes after WhatsApp faced criticism for its handling of misinformation and hate speech in groups.
With the admin review feature, group admins can now take swift action to remove inappropriate content from their groups.
It will also help them keep their groups organized and reduce the burden of moderation.
WhatsApp has been testing several new features lately, including a ‘view once’ feature that allows users to send photos and videos that can only be viewed once.
In addition, it has been working on other interesting features as well. One such is a multi-device feature that allows users to use WhatsApp on multiple devices simultaneously.
The upcoming admin review feature is a positive step forward for WhatsApp in its efforts to address the challenges of moderating group chats.
With this new tool, group admins can better manage their groups and create a safer and more inclusive community for their members.
