Claim insurance through WhatsApp soon
Claiming insurance can be done through WhatsApp soon. Some insurance companies launched their services to ease claim process and to reach customers quickly.
Aditya Birla Sun Life Insurance, ICICI Prudential Life and Liberty General Insurance have started their services on WhatsApp.
The main reason for these companies to choose WhatsApp as a medium is that there are over 200 million active users in the country as of now.
Here is the process:
If you want to choose Aditya Birla Sun Life Insurance (ABSLI), then you can use WhatsApp to process the basic paperwork. You can use chat function to get their policy and due details, fund value and tax certificates. You can also update your details like name change, nominee change, mode of payment change and to receive claims etc. on WhatsApp.
ICICI Prudential Life Insurance customers can also access details of their life insurance policies through WhatsApp. They can also receive policy certificates, premium receipts, and also links to download tax certificates to file IT returns on WhatsApp with their approval.
Liberty General Insurance is offering two-wheeler policy renewal service to their customers via WhatsApp. The company is planning to launch options to send accident claim vehicle photos or videos on this social media platform in future. The policy holders can even check their policy claim status.
The companies state that there is no involvement of data sharing on WhatsApp so there is no breach of confidentiality. Moreover, WhatsApp messages are encrypted, thus they are safe. The chats are done by the companies from the WhatsApp verified business accounts.
If a customer wants to know the fund value of his/her insurance policy, then he or she has to save the WhatsApp number of the company and send his/her interest in knowing his/her fund value. The customer also has to type his/her policy number when asked.
An OTP will be sent to the customer to the registered mobile for authentication. After that, the fund value information will be provided. Then, other queries can also be asked.
