How to send WhatsApp messages without saving a phone number
WhatsApp has become one of the most widely used communication apps, allowing people to chat, call and video call effortlessly.
Normally, we contact someone only after saving their number, but many situations require sending a message to a person whose number we don’t want to store, like delivery agents, service providers or one-time business callers.
Fortunately, WhatsApp allows users to start a conversation without adding the number to their contacts, and the process is quite simple once you know how it works.
Before trying the method, it is important to make sure that the number you want to contact is active on WhatsApp.
If the person is using WhatsApp with that number, you will be able to start a chat instantly; otherwise, the app will show that the number is not registered.
To begin, copy the number from your recent calls, a note or any message where it is mentioned.
Then open WhatsApp on your phone. On the home screen, you will find a search bar at the top.
When you type keywords like “My No” or “You,” WhatsApp displays your own number or personal chat window.
Open that chat. This space works like a personal notepad where you can paste anything you need to store temporarily.
Paste the number you want to contact and send it to yourself. Once the number appears in the chat, WhatsApp automatically identifies it as a phone number.
It will then turn blue, indicating that the app recognises it as an actionable link. Tap on the highlighted number.
A small box will appear on the screen showing the number and, if available, the person’s WhatsApp profile name.
At the bottom of this box, you will see an option that says “Message.” Selecting this option opens a brand-new chat window with that number, allowing you to begin the conversation immediately.
This method is particularly helpful for people who receive numerous calls throughout the day and do not want to clutter their phone books with temporary contacts.
It also saves time when you need to send your location to couriers or delivery partners.
With this easy trick, you can communicate quickly, efficiently and without saving unnecessary numbers.
