Kerala Caravans offer luxurious tours
Kerala is well-known for its natural beauty and greenery. Each year several tourists visit the place. They are mesmerized by the landscapes of the state.
To attract more tourists from all over the country, the Kerala Tourism Development Corporation (KTDC) launched a Caravan Tourist package.
A caravan is a customized vehicle. It provides numerous amenities for a comfortable stay for tourists.
This air-conditioning vehicle will have a sofa-cum-bed, TV, fridge, microwave oven, induction heater, generator, dining table, toilet cubicle, charging system, GPS etc.
Four adults and two children can travel in a caravan. This luxurious caravan tour provides a memorable experience for tourists.
Caravan tourism is becoming popular in the state. More than 1,000 caravans are operated in Kerala. The government decided to develop caravan parks as well.
Many startups showed their interest in operating the parks. They are also interested in running tourist caravans.
The caravan package includes veg breakfast, snacks, tea or coffee, refreshments in the caravan, and Wi-Fi service. There is no parking fee for the caravan as it can be parked in parks where the place is allotted for these vehicles. In addition to that, tourists can have a free Bonfire experience.
KTDC fixes the package price at ₹3,999 per person per night. This fare is exclusive of taxes. The transportation charge is fixed at ₹40 per kilometer. KTDC entered into an agreement with caravan service providers for this service.
The package covers Kumarakom – Vagamon – Thekkady route. Tourists can explore central Kerala. The journey starts from the lakeside in Kumarakom in the morning and reaches Vagamon in the afternoon.
The caravan will take the tourists to Thekkady, an eco-tourism hub the next day. Thus, tourists can have the option of staying for a night. They can opt for a single-day journey if they do not want to stay at night. They have to pay as per their choice.
