PM inaugurates Bose Museum

In order to mark the 122nd birth anniversary of great freedom fighter Subhash Chandra Bose, yesterday Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated a museum at the iconic Red Fort.

Two other museums have also been inaugurated by the PM to commemorate the freedom struggle of India.

The first museum is on Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose and the Indian National Army (INA). The museum exhibits the artifacts related to Bose and INA. Some of them include a wooden chair, sword used by Bose, badges, medals, uniforms etc.

The second museum is the Yaad-e-Jallian Museum, i.e. the museum on the Jallianwala Bagh and the First World War.

The museum highlights the history of Jallianwala Bagh massacre of 1919 and the heroism of brave soldiers who sacrificed their lives in World War I.

it also has the replica of the memorial erected at the Jallianwala Bagh. The artefacts of the museum include a poem that was written by Sarojini Naidu on the troubles of Indian soldiers who fought in World War I.

1.5 million soldiers battled in the war. The poem also describes their sacrifices.

Another museum depicts the history of the 1857, the first war of the country for Independence, and the bravery and sacrifices of Indians at that time.

All these museums in the Red Fort will be known as Kranti Mandir. PM after inaugurating these museums stated that these museums are a tribute to the revolutionary fanaticism and bravery of freedom fighters of the country.

The museums have photographs, paintings, newspaper clippings, in addition to audio and video clips.

A documentary has been made on Bose and the INA to help understand his vision. For the documentary, Abhishek Bachchan lent his voice.
