On Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be inaugurating the first ever global investors’ summit, which is labeled as “Advantage Assam.”

Over 2,000 industry leaders, both from India and from foreign countries, will be attending the two-day-long summit.

Advantage Assam will be looking for two things: creating pollution-free industrialization and creating an ease of doing business.

This summit will also be an expressway for India to join the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).

Some foreign government delegates will be attending the summit, such as Dasho Thsering Tobgay, the Prime Minister of Bhutan, and Amir Hossain Amu, the industry minister of Bangladesh.

Several ambassadors and commissioners from 12 other countries will also be attending the summit, including the United States, the Czech Republic, Canada, Nepal, Korea, and Japan.

The government of India will be offering 160 square kilometer industrial corridors to business persons, which will allow them to purchase their land easily.

They will also offer allotments of land for the creation of new industrial estates and the promotion of labor skills and industry-oriented college courses.

The government will also be looking to strengthen the fundamentals of the business environment, such as road infrastructure and the common facilities at industrial estates.

For India, one of the major purposes of this summit is that it will be India’s expressway to the ASEAN.

For Assam itself, this is the largest investment promotion and facilitation initiative that the government of the state has ever produced.

There will be several focus areas for the summit, including agriculture and food processing, textile and handicrafts, hospitality and wellness, power, and tourism.

The summit also shows India’s rapidly growing economic presence in the world, with delegates and ambassadors from many different countries attending it.

Advantage Assam will certainly be another major step in further growing the Indian economy.
