In a significant development, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to inaugurate the revamped Pragati Maidan Complex on July 26.

The inauguration will commence with a puja, followed by an evening cultural event. Numerous distinguished guests and dignitaries will grace the event.

The Pragati Maidan Complex is also known as the ITPO complex. It is gearing up to host the prestigious G20 Leaders Summit on September 9-10, 2023.

This summit holds immense importance as India presently presides over the G20. Established in 1999, the G20 plays a critical role in shaping and fortifying global economic governance.

The G20 comprises 20 member countries, which represent about two-thirds of the world’s population. These countries account for approximately 85% of the global GDP and over 75% of global trade.

The International Exhibition-cum-Convention Centre (IECC), also known as the Pragati Maidan Complex, is sprawled over an impressive 123-acre campus.

This venue proudly holds the title of India’s largest meetings, conferences, and exhibitions.

In terms of covered event space, the modernized IECC Complex ranks among the Top 10 Exhibition and Convention Complexes globally.

This exemplifies India’s capability to host world-class events on a grand scale.

The Convention Centre’s Level 3 boasts a grand seating capacity of 7,000 individuals, surpassing even the iconic Sydney Opera House in Australia, which seats approximately 5,500 people.

The IECC’s Exhibition Halls offer seven innovative spaces for showcasing products, innovations etc., making it an ideal platform for exhibitors and companies to engage with their target audience. Thus it ensures fostering business growth and networking opportunities.

Another striking feature of the IECC is its magnificent Amphitheater. It has a seating capacity of 3,000 individuals, equivalent to three combined PVR theatres.

Ensuring the convenience of visitors is a top priority at the IECC, evident through the provision of over 5,500 vehicle parking spaces and easy access through signal-free roads, making it hassle-free for visitors to reach the venue.

With the redevelopment of the Pragati Maidan Complex, India is set to showcase its prowess in organizing world-class events and hosting global gatherings, like the forthcoming G20 Leaders Summit.

The upgraded IECC stands as a testament to the nation’s ability to create state-of-the-art infrastructure for international events, fostering India’s position in the global arena.
