Home Remedies for Scalp Psoriasis

Scalp psoriasis is one of the most irritating conditions to a person. There is no proper treatment to cure this condition.

However, certain home remedies can alleviate the symptoms such as itchiness, flakiness, inflammation etc.

Here are certain home remedies for scalp psoriasis:

Apple cider vinegar is acidic in nature and is very effective in treating scalp psoriasis. Applying the mixture of ½ teaspoon of apple cider vinegar and 2 tablespoons of water on the affected area and rinsing off after 10 minutes will help minimize the itchiness and patches on the scalp.


Tea tree oil has anti-inflammatory and antifungal properties. Hence, it can sooth the symptoms of itchiness and irritation on the scalp. Massage with 5 drops of tea tree oil and 2 tablespoons of almond oil and rinse it off after 5 minutes. It helps reduce the patches on the scalp.

Loaded with anti-inflammatory properties, olive oil effectively soothes the irritated skin on the scalp. Massage slightly with olive oil on the scalp and keep it overnight. Wash it off with regular shampoo and lukewarm water the next day morning.

Aloe vera alleviates the symptoms of scalp psoriasis. Apply aloe vera gel on the scalp and leave it overnight. Rinse it off with cold water on the next day.

Applying the mixture of lavender oil and almond oil effectively helps get rid of the symptoms due to their antibacterial properties.

Epsom salt is also useful in relieving symptoms and prevents the formation of scales. Applying the paste made with a pinch of Epsom salt and water and rinsing it off after 5 minutes works well for your condition.

Glycerin is another effective remedy for scalp psoriasis. It helps reduce the itchiness. Apply the mixture of 1 teaspoon of glycerin and 2 tablespoons of water on the scalp and rinse off after a few minutes. It helps you treat the condition.
