Here are some home remedies for kidney infection:

  • Water is one of the best drinks that helps you in many ways. It eliminates toxins and other waste material from the body. It also keeps your body hydrated. Since it is available easily, you can consume enough amount of water to keep urinary and kidney infections at bay.
  • Cranberry juice is one of the most excellent home remedies to treat all types of kidney infections. It increases the acidity of urine and prevents the growth of bacteria on the bladder walls. Drink one glass of cranberry juice daily. Make sure to drink juice naturally without artificial sweeteners. If you are taking blood-thinning medications, then avoid it.
  • Parsley juice is rich in many vitamins like A, B, and C, and minerals like sodium, potassium, copper etc. Cut parsley leaves in pieces and boil in water for 3-5 minutes. Strain it and drink. You can also add honey or lemon to this juice for added flavour. Parsley may also interfere with some medications, consult your physician before consuming it.
  • Drink one or two glasses of apple juice daily to prevent the growth of bacteria on the bladder walls. Apples also help maintain the acidity in the urine. They help kidneys heal from the infection.
  • Apple cider vinegar has antibacterial properties to control infections. Add one tablespoon of vinegar and two teaspoons of honey to a glass of water and drink. Consume it for a week. However, apple cider vinegar can increase acid reflux and affect tooth enamel.
  • Herbal teas like green tea, hibiscus tea, and chamomile tea can help fight against kidney infections.
