Eat Chocolates to Keep your Heart Healthy
People crave for chocolates and everybody likes them. Whether it is a child or adult, the taste of chocolate melts people the way it melts in the mouth. Hence, chocolate is in the top in the list of gifts.
Mayans described the Cacao as the food of the gods.
Several researches show that eating chocolate has several health benefits.
Compared to milk chocolate, dark chocolate has many more benefits as it contains more cocoa and less sugar.
Dark chocolate has rich nutritional value. 100 grams of dark chocolate contains more than two-thirds of RDA for iron and magnesium, 90%of copper and 98% of manganese.
It also has adequate amounts of other minerals such as potassium, zinc, phosphorus, selenium, and fiber.
These flavonols protect the skin against UV rays as well. Cocoa in chocolate helps in improving the blood flow in arteries and to the brain. It promotes HDL and controls LDL, and thus prevents cardio vascular diseases.
Chocolate improves the releases of endorphins and enhances the functioning of neurotransmitters like serotonin. Hence it is helpful in subsiding antidepressants. It is believed as the mood enhancer.
Many believe it as an aphrodisiac even though there is no scientific proof.
Perhaps, the belief may be prevalent due to the gifting of chocolates to loved ones especially to women and thus many believe that there is a relationship between gifting of chocolates and love.
