Rintu Kalyani Rathod might seem like a normal woman. However, her unique ideas to contribute to those around her definitely call for applause. She made a Ganesh idol out of chocolate in order to feed several underprivileged children in Mumbai.

The delicious idol is made out of 35 kgs of chocolate and it took more than 50 hours of work. She did not add any preservatives to the idol to keep it harmless. Even the decorations to the idol were made with edible colors. She wanted to keep it completely safe so that children who could not effort chocolate can enjoy this.

Rintu also maintained good hygiene for the idol by keeping it in an air-conditioned room. The entire idol was immersed in milk on September 21, 2015. After the immersion, the chocolate milk was distributed to underprivileged children.

This is not the first time Rintu did something like this. Last year, she made a similar idol and distributed the chocolate milk to over 1100 people. In 2011, she started making eco-friendly Ganesh idols. The first one she made was out of sugar. She immersed this one in milk too in order to distribute it to children.

Rintu used to be a commercial designer. However, after her son was born, she chose to be a full time mother. Her passion for baking pushed her to start a home baking company called Rini Bakes – Bake my dreams.

On 2014 Christmas, she surprised the children at NGO, Access Life by gifting them a ginger house cake along with ginger bread cookies that she made.
