If you are someone who needs demand drafts regularly for a business or any other activity, then you might have experienced the long waiting queues and time consumption over the counters. There is no more waiting in the counters for a demand draft. Now, it is very easy to make online draft with State Bank of India. You can finish the entire process online except collection for which you need to visit the branch. If you have no time to collect it in person, you can pay extra money while making draft so that you will get it via courier.

The first and foremost thing if you want to make an online draft is to register for SBI net banking. Most of the bank customers normally are registered for net banking these days. After registering for SBI net banking, making a demand draft is as simple as online money transfer.

Before making a draft online, make sure that you have sufficient amount in your account including the commission which is charged by the bank for issuing the demand draft. Also know the branch code from SBI prior to making a draft online.

Now you can login to SBI net banking. Then click on the “Payments/Transfer” tab and select the option of “Issue Demand Draft”. It needs your profile password due to security reasons. After entering your password, you can fill the demand draft form. Fill it carefully as you cannot cancel the draft online once you made it. Then you will have to select the delivery mode for your DD.

There are two delivery modes. One is you can collect it in person and another is you can receive it by way of courier for which you need to pay extra charge. Then submit it by pressing the button. Password will be sent to your registered mobile to confirm the transaction. You will receive the transaction details including the reference number and DD details. You can print the counterfoil which can be submitted in the bank to collect the DD in person. The issued demand drafts are valid for 3 months.
