Share Cuisine of Your Region
Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched many initiatives for the citizens. Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat is one among them. He announced the scheme in 2015 on the occasion of 140th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
India is a land of diversity. Despite the diversity, the speciality of the country is unity. Indians show their unity in times of need.
The main objective of Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat scheme is to promote unity and integrity among different states of the country and strengthen the bond between citizens.
It aims to improve the interaction between people of various states and union territories by understanding the culture and traditions of each other.
Under this scheme, each state or UT is paired with one or two states or UTs. For instance, Delhi is paired with Assam and Sikkim.
The intention behind pairing each state with other states is to promote bonding between them. Each state has to know about its pairing state, its traditions, language, festivals, culture etc. For instance, Delhiites would know about Assamese, their traditions and their food, so do the Assamese. Thus, each state will have a good relation with the other state and understand about them.
Apart from that, each state and region has its own cuisine style. It depends upon its climate, vegetation, agricultural products, preferences of the people and external influence.
PM Modi in his latest edition of Radio Programme, Mann Ki Baat, urged the citizens to share recipes of their region. The ‘Share Cuisines of Your Region’ initiative had opened for the citizens on 28th October 28, 2020. It will end by 31st March 2021.
If you want to participate in the initiative, you can do so by visiting the website. You have to register before submitting your regional recipe. Then, share the popular recipe of your region along with ingredients.
