PM Modi launches Amrit Bharat stations and Vande Bharat Express Trains
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced a groundbreaking initiative to revamp over 500 major railway stations across India.
These rejuvenated stations, part of the Amrit Kaal redevelopment, will be known as Amrit Bharat stations.
In a virtual address, PM Modi flagged off nine Vande Bharat Express trains, emphasizing their significance in boosting connectivity and tourism nationwide.
These newly unveiled stations are set to become the face of a revitalized India, ushering in a new era of modernization for the railway sector.
Recognizing the pivotal role railways play in citizens’ lives, PM Modi highlighted the neglect it faced in the past. At the same time, he underscored the current government’s efforts to transform Indian Railways.
The railway budget has seen an eight-fold increase compared to 2014, enabling the doubling of routes, electrification, and new tracks.
PM Modi celebrated the tradition of commemorating the founding day of railway stations and urged its expansion to engage more people.
He stressed the importance of unity and development across all states, advocating for a vision of Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas.
Also, he commended the railway employees for their hard work and called upon them to make every passenger’s journey memorable.
Cleanliness standards in Indian Railways have also witnessed significant improvements.
PM Modi encouraged participation in the proposed Swachhta Abhiyan on October 1st to honour Mahatma Gandhi’s legacy.
The introduction of nine Vande Bharat Express trains will provide swift connections to religious and tourist destinations across 11 states.
These trains are equipped with state-of-the-art amenities and advanced safety features. They include Kavach technology and represent a leap forward in offering modern, comfortable travel options to a diverse range of passengers.
Notably, these Vande Bharat trains will significantly reduce travel times, with some journeys becoming up to three hours faster than existing options.
In line with PM Modi’s vision to enhance connectivity to religious sites, certain routes will connect important pilgrimage centers.
As India moves towards a developed future, these initiatives signify a commitment to modernization, connectivity, and improved travel experiences for all.
The Amrit Bharat stations and Vande Bharat Express trains are poised to become landmarks of progress in the country’s journey toward prosperity and development.
