Indian Railways poised to revolutionize train travel from Pune

Indian Railways is on a mission to redefine the travel experience in India, and Pune is set to play a pivotal role in this transformation.

Currently, the city is already served by two Vande Bharat Express trains operating on the Pune-Hubli, Pune-Kolhapur, and Mumbai-Solapur via Pune routes.

These trains are designed to provide passengers with a faster, more efficient, and comfortable travel experience, making them increasingly popular for those looking to travel long distances with ease.

Reports indicate that Pune may soon witness the launch of four new Vande Bharat Express trains, which could further enhance the city’s connectivity.

The proposed new routes include Pune-Shegaon, Pune-Vadodara, Pune-Secunderabad, and Pune-Belagavi.

These additions, if approved, would strengthen the region’s position as a key railway hub.

However, an official railway spokesperson has clarified that, at present, no formal proposals for new trains from Pune are being considered.

Despite this, the idea of expanding services remains a significant possibility in the future.

Ticket prices for the existing Vande Bharat services from Pune are reasonably priced for the comfort and speed they offer.

For the Pune-Kolhapur route, the standard seat fare is ₹560, while the special coach costs ₹1,135.

This service operates thrice weekly on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. The Pune-Hubli route has fares of ₹1,530 for standard seating and ₹2,780 for the special coach.

These trains not only offer a faster journey but also a premium travel experience with modern amenities that appeal to passengers.

The ongoing year marks a significant milestone for Indian Railways, with 30 new Vande Bharat trains introduced across the country.

This expansion aligns with the government’s vision of revolutionizing rail travel by offering faster, high-tech trains that connect major cities and regions.

For Pune, the potential addition of more Vande Bharat routes would further solidify its importance in India’s growing railway network, ensuring faster, more accessible, and comfortable journeys for all passengers.
