Simplify credit card bill payments with PhonePe | Fusion - WeRIndia

Digital payments in India are growing rapidly, and PhonePe is emerging as a top player in meeting this demand.

Known for its smooth, secure, and user-friendly interface, PhonePe offers a powerful feature, credit card bill payments directly through the app.

Follow the process below to pay credit card bills on PhonePe:

• Open the PhonePe app: Download and launch the app from Google Play or the Apple Store.
• Go to ‘Recharge & Pay Bills’: Access bill payment options in this section.
• Select ‘Credit Card’: Choose the credit card bill payment category.
• Enter details: Provide your card number, CVV, and the payment amount.
• Choose payment method: Pay using UPI, linked bank account, or other available options.
• Confirm payment: Review your details and confirm the transaction.

Note: Payments are usually processed instantly, but the amount may take up to 48 hours to reflect in your credit card account.

In 2018, PhonePe partnered with Visa to become the first digital payment app in India to offer direct credit card bill payments. This marked a major milestone in the platform’s journey.

To enhance security, PhonePe launched device tokenisation in February. This technology replaces sensitive information like CVV and PIN with unique tokens. This reduces the risk of data leaks during transactions.

Use RuPay credit cards for UPI Payments. PhonePe also allows users to link RuPay credit cards for UPI payments.

To set it up:

• Go to ‘My Money’ and link your RuPay credit card.
• Set UPI PIN for secure, seamless transactions.

Note: Only RuPay credit cards are currently supported for UPI.
