BSNL Pay: A new UPI payment option for users
BSNL is preparing to launch its new UPI payment service called BSNL Pay, which will be integrated into its Self Care app.
This move is expected to give users, especially those in rural areas and BSNL’s existing customer base, a fresh alternative to popular digital payment platforms like PhonePe, Google Pay, and Paytm.
BSNL Pay is a UPI-based digital payment system that will be powered by the BHIM app infrastructure.
It aims to provide seamless online payment options directly within the BSNL Self Care app, eliminating the need for a separate payment application.
Users will be able to recharge, pay bills, and transfer money using the same app they use to manage their BSNL services.
To access BSNL Pay, users will only need to install or update the BSNL Self Care app.
There is no separate app required for BSNL Pay. Once launched, the feature will be available within the existing interface of the Self Care app, allowing BSNL SIM users to make payments easily.
Although BSNL has not shared full details yet, BSNL Pay is expected to offer standard UPI functionalities, such as:
- Mobile recharges and bill payments
- Sending and receiving money using a UPI ID or QR codes
- Transaction history and payment reminders
- Secure and fast transfers through BHIM’s UPI system
BSNL Pay is likely to benefit rural users and BSNL SIM holders, especially those who prefer using fewer apps for multiple services.
Integrating payment features into the Self Care app makes it convenient for users to manage mobile services and payments in one place.
While there is no official launch date, a banner for BSNL Pay has already appeared in the BSNL Self Care app, indicating that the service will be launched soon.
As BSNL focuses on expanding its digital services alongside its ongoing 4G and upcoming 5G rollout, BSNL Pay could become an essential tool for users seeking a simple, secure, and government-backed digital payment platform.
