Unique Ganesha Idols That Turned Devotion Into Records

From thousands of currency coins to shaving products and precious silver, these unusual idols demonstrate how creativity can give traditional celebrations a distinctive touch.

Ganesha Idol Made With 1,01,100 Currency Coins

Phoenix United Mall in Lucknow created a striking Ganesha idol using 1,01,100 Indian currency coins. The idol measured 9.5 feet in height and 16.5 feet in width.

The structure combined clay modelling with fibre and iron. Coins in denominations of ₹1, ₹2, ₹5 and ₹10 were incorporated into the design.

The unusual combination transformed ordinary currency into an elaborate artistic representation of Lord Ganesha.

Ganesha Sculpted From Shaving Foam

A completely different approach came from VI-John Healthcare India LLP in Gurugram. The organisation created a life-size Ganesha idol using shaving foam and shaving cream packs.

The creation stood 8.15 feet tall, with a length of 5 feet and width of 3 feet. It was planned for display at Grand Highstreet Mall in Pune from September 7 to September 17, 2024.

Using grooming products instead of conventional idol-making materials made this creation particularly distinctive. It showed how unconventional materials can be adapted for traditional artistic expression.

Five-Kilogram Silver Coin Featuring Ganesha and Lakshmi

Omkar Mint Private Limited from Hyderabad created a remarkable religious artwork in the form of a 5-kilogram silver coin.

The coin features Lord Ganesha alongside Goddess Lakshmi, two deities traditionally associated with prosperity and good fortune.

The coin was recorded as the heaviest single silver coin depicting Lord Ganesh and Goddess Lakshmi. It was also tested for a claimed purity of 99.9% silver.

Together, these creations highlight the diverse ways in which devotion can inspire artistic innovation.

Whether through coins, grooming products or precious metals, each Ganesha creation brings a unique idea to the celebration.
