IPS Manoj Kumar Sharma’s inspirational journey
In a narrative that defies the conventional script of studious and academically successful officers, IPS Manoj Kumar Sharma’s journey is a Bollywood-worthy tale.
Portrayed by Vikrant Massey in the film “12th Fail,” Sharma’s story is a testament to resilience, love, and an unwavering determination to overcome setbacks.
Hailing from the humble background of Morena district in Madhya Pradesh, Sharma’s early academic record was far from stellar.
With a third division in both Class 9 and Class 10, he faced failure on a grand scale in Class 12, succeeding only in Hindi.
However, his life took an unexpected turn when he fell in love with Shraddha Joshi, a turning point that fueled his commitment to change their world.
Facing financial challenges, Sharma took up a myriad of odd jobs, including driving a tempo and even sharing nights with beggars.
His transformative moment came while working in a library, where he immersed himself in the life stories of renowned figures like Gorky, Abraham Lincoln, and Muktibodh. This exposure ignited inspiration within him.
The decision to pursue the UPSC exams marked a new chapter, but success did not come easily.
Enduring three consecutive failures, Sharma persisted, driven by an unyielding determination.
On his fourth attempt, he emerged victorious, securing an All India 121 rank. Throughout this tumultuous journey, Shraddha Joshi, his girlfriend turned wife, stood as his unwavering pillar of support.
Currently serving as the Additional Commissioner in Mumbai Police, Sharma is renowned for his domineering style, earning monikers like “Singham” and “Simba.”
His journey resonates as a beacon of hope, demonstrating that academic setbacks need not define one’s destiny.
Shraddha Joshi, now an IRS officer, stands beside him as a testament to the power of love and partnership in overcoming adversities.
The story of IPS Manoj Kumar Sharma serves as an inspiration for those who dare to dream beyond societal expectations and believe in the transformative power of resilience and love.
