Inspirational journey of a man from struggles to success

Success stories often remind us that perseverance and dedication can overcome even the most daunting obstacles.

The journey of Hritwik Haldar, an academic achiever who rose from humble beginnings to secure admission at the prestigious Massachusetts Institute of Technology, exemplifies this ethos.

Hritwik’s educational journey began in a Bengali-medium school, where he struggled to find joy in studying. Burdened by rote learning, he saw education as a necessity rather than a passion.

However, a pivotal moment in Class 10 shifted his perspective. Instead of memorization, Hritwik began focusing on understanding concepts, a change that ignited his interest in learning and set him on a new path.

Hritwik achieved his first major success in high school, scoring an impressive 93.4%.

Despite this accomplishment, he faced setbacks in competitive exams such as JEE, JEE Advanced, NEET, and KVPY.

These failures, however, did not deter him. The turning point came when he joined the Ramakrishna Mission School in Belur.

The institution’s emphasis on self-study and access to a rich library provided him with the resources to deepen his knowledge, particularly in chemistry.

Although he failed the KVPY SB exam again, Hritwik’s resilience paid off. He secured the 10th rank in the SC category, earning him admission to the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research in Pune.

At IISER Pune, Hritwik’s academic journey reached new heights. He maintained a stellar 9.1 GPA and honed critical skills such as concept-building and research.

This environment allowed him to flourish, culminating in his admission to MIT. This achievement reflects his determination and commitment to self-study and growth.

Hritwik Haldar’s story underscores that failures are not the end but stepping stones toward success.

His journey reminds us that with hard work, dedication, and a willingness to embrace challenges, one can overcome obstacles and achieve extraordinary feats.
