Batman of Bengaluru: A vigilante for good in the digital age
In the heart of India’s tech capital, Bengaluru, one man has transformed his online presence into a lifeline for thousands.
Dushyant Dubey is affectionately called Batman of Bengaluru. Some people call him St Broseph.
He is a modern-day vigilante—not of crime, but of compassion.
His journey from a concerned teenager in Ahmedabad to a full-time social crusader in Bengaluru is a testament to the enduring power of kindness and determination.
Dushyant’s mission began in 2008 when, as a 17-year-old, he witnessed a tragic event online. An American teenager, Abraham Biggs, live-streamed his suicide attempt, and while others watched passively, Dushyant acted.
He tracked Abraham’s details and alerted authorities, saving lives and sparking a lifelong commitment to helping others.
This incident planted the seeds of empathy and purpose in Dushyant, leading him to dedicate his life to social work.
Over the years, Dushyant has assisted over 5,000 people, addressing issues as varied as domestic violence, stalking, civic problems, and more.
Dushyant’s approach is systematic and effective. He and his team meticulously gather evidence, prepare legal documents, and accompany victims through legal processes, ensuring justice is served.
His impact extends beyond individual cases; Dushyant has mobilized over 8,000 volunteers across major Indian cities like Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Pune, and Chennai, creating a vast support network for those in need.
In 2023, Dushyant took a bold step by quitting his marketing job to focus entirely on his social initiatives.
His NGO, the St Broseph Foundation, operates on multiple fronts—women’s empowerment, mental health support, legal aid, and more.
One of its most critical initiatives is the establishment of safe houses across Bengaluru. These fully furnished apartments provide secure, temporary housing for individuals at risk, offering them not just a roof over their heads but a new lease on life.
Despite facing threats, intimidation, and even physical assaults, Dushyant remains undeterred. His work has earned him not only the admiration of the online community but also the gratitude of those whose lives he has touched.
For Dushyant, helping others is not just a mission; it’s a way of life. His story is a powerful reminder that in a world often driven by self-interest, there is still room for selfless action.
Batman of Bengaluru is proof that one person’s courage and compassion can create ripples of positive change, transforming lives and communities along the way.
