Zypp Electric – An Electric Scooter Rental platform
The usage of electric vehicles has been growing in the country. Observing the great potential of the EV market, this woman ventured into it. Rashi Agarwal launched Zypp Electric along with her husband Akash Gupta in 2017.
Before launching the startup, Rashi worked in S&P for seven years and launched a fashion startup in 2013. Though the business had grown to some extent, there was not much potential in that business. Hence, it could not grow beyond a certain level.
Then, Rashi and her husband Akash launched Zypp Electric to reduce pollution in last-minute logistics by promoting the use of electric vehicles (EVs).
The couple realized that very few clean energy travel options were available for shorter distances in the country, while several options were there for long-distance travel. So, they decided to come up with sustainable solutions.
The couple started their services with last-mile mobility for daily commuters. But, several corporates also asked whether the startup could offer delivery of their shipments on EVs. Then, the couple extended their services to them also.
Now, Zypp Electric has more than 100 partners. These include Swiggy, Zomato, Bigbasket, Flipkart, Amazon, Myntra and many more. It partnered with many service providers in various sectors, including food, grocery, logistics, and pharma.
The startup deployed charging stations. It provides battery swapping options and two batteries. Hence, riders can travel without worrying about their mileage.
In addition to that, it offers EV rental options to users on a subscription model. There are different types of subscription models. The startup is working on it.
The startup’s business has been grown by 7 times last year. There has been an increase of up to 30 per cent in its revenue for five months.
Zypp Electric aims to expand its operations to various metro cities in the coming months like Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, and Mumbai.
