Zomoz: Where culinary passion meets technological innovation

In the realm of culinary entrepreneurship, Shouvik Dhar’s transition from a Defence Research and Development Organisation scientist to the founder of Zomoz stands as a remarkable tale of innovation and determination.

Established in 2016 in Hyderabad’s Inorbit Mall, Zomoz has become a culinary sensation, reshaping the Indian fast-food market with its unique focus on momos.

Dhar, identifying a gap in the market for high-quality momos, decided to combine his passion for this delightful delicacy with his engineering expertise.

The result was nothing short of revolutionary – an automated momo-making machine that would redefine the way momos were produced in India.

This ingenious invention propelled Zomoz’s rapid expansion across the nation, meeting the escalating demand for quality momos.

The automated momo machine, a technological marvel, seamlessly integrates various processes, from vegetable chopping and dough mixing to shaping, steaming, and rapid freezing.

It not only ensures efficiency and consistency in production but also allows Zomoz to produce a staggering 2.25 lakh momos daily.

This technological prowess significantly contributes to Zomoz’s impressive annual revenue, reaching ₹25 crores.

Zomoz’s menu is a testament to its commitment to diversity. Offering an array of momos, including chicken, vegetable, and paneer versions, Zomoz caters to a wide range of taste preferences.

Chicken momos, in particular, have emerged as a customer favourite, further establishing the brand’s appeal.

Dhar’s journey from a scientific career to culinary entrepreneurship was marked by his MBA education and a keen interest in exploring niche markets.

Hailing from Assam, where momos are a beloved snack, his cultural roots played a pivotal role in shaping his entrepreneurial path.

His commitment to culinary aspirations was exemplified when he sold his tech venture to fully invest in Zomoz.

Today, Zomoz stands as a testament to Dhar’s unwavering dedication. With a workforce of 173 employees and over 75 outlets nationwide, the brand continues to flourish.

Dhar’s vision extends beyond the borders of India, with plans to penetrate tier-two cities and international markets like the UAE, solidifying Zomoz’s position as a trailblazer in the culinary landscape.

Shouvik Dhar’s journey and Zomoz’s success story underscore the transformative potential of combining culinary passion with technological innovation. It offers a delectable experience that resonates with diverse palates.
