Spice Up Foods brings authentic Indian ready-to-eat meals

Spice Up Foods brings authentic Indian flavours to ready-to-eat meals

Imagine moving to a new country, starting a new job, or returning home after a long day only to crave a comforting homemade Indian meal.

Cooking feels exhausting, and takeout isn’t always the best option.

This is a common struggle for students, professionals, and frequent travellers.

Recognizing this need, Spice Up Foods is redefining the ready-to-eat (RTE) food market with hassle-free, preservative-free, and authentic Indian meals.

Founded in 2024 by Amit Murarka, Shalu Murarka, and Madhu Goel, Spice Up Foods was inspired by a travel experience.

While in Switzerland, Amit and Shalu saw a couple enjoying freeze-dried food that required only hot water to prepare.

The simplicity of the concept sparked an idea: why not bring this innovation to Indian cuisine?

Back home, the trio spent years researching, testing, and perfecting their products before launching the brand.

Unlike many ready-to-eat food brands, Spice Up Foods prioritizes nutrition, taste, and authenticity, ensuring that each meal retains its homemade essence.

The following things made Spice Up Foods unique:

  • Freeze-Drying Technology: Unlike traditional packaged foods, Spice Up Foods uses freeze-drying to preserve flavours without artificial preservatives. This method, also used for astronaut food, keeps meals fresh and nutritious.
  • Lightweight & Travel-Friendly: The brand’s meals weigh only 20% of their original weight, making them an excellent option for students, professionals, and travellers.
  • Homemade Taste, No Preservatives: Every meal is prepared by trained female home cooks, following standard recipes to maintain authentic flavours. This also creates meaningful employment opportunities.
  • Diverse Menu Catering to All Preferences: The brand offers vegetarian Indian dishes like Dal Makhani, Pav Bhaji, Rajma, Upma, and Idli Sambhar. They also have a kids’ menu with mild flavours and no-onion, no-garlic options for Jain customers.
  • Quick & Easy Preparation: Just add hot water, wait for seven minutes, and enjoy a home-style meal, no cooking or chopping is needed.

Since its launch, Spice Up Foods has delivered 15,000+ meals to over 2,000 families. The team is now focused on positioning the brand as a daily meal solution, not just a travel convenience.

With a strong focus on quality, convenience, and authentic taste, Spice Up Foods is changing the way people enjoy Indian meals whenever and wherever they want.
