Know about the Guru of Google’s Founders
Have you heard of Rajeev Motwani? Google was conceived under his tutelage by his PhD students, Larry Page and Sergey Brin, at the Stanford University.
He was a very inspiring and enthusiastic computer science professor according to the University, his colleagues and students. He was known for his research. The students loved the deep attention he paid to them.
Rajeev Motwani was born on March 24, 1962, in J&K (Jammu and Kashmir), India. He was inspired by mathematician Gauss as he grew up. He wasn’t first interested in Computer Science which led him to take the JEE.
When he applied and joined IIT Kanpur without wanting to finish his 12th, his parents were reluctant towards his career as a mathematician. They forced him to change his field to Computer Science. Rajeev soon discovered that computer science is actually quite mathematical as a field.
One of his professors at IIT Kanpur said that he was one of the finest he ever taught. He said that Rajeev knew the purpose of programming is not just coding but to formulate the problem.
Rajeev Motwani was also a great amazing professor. When he was doing his tenure at Stanford, Rajeev founded the Mining Data at Stanford project (MIDAS). He did research on many important projects. His work led him to be involved as co-author with his own two students, Larry Page and Sergey Brin on an algorithmic structure. This structure later went on to be today’s GOOGLE. He was also the founding advisor of PayPal.
Rajeev is not just known as the founding advisor of Google, he was also a guarding mentor to Page and Brin. Along with them, he wrote an early paper on PageRank Algorithm. This was the technique which formed the basis for Google Search. Rajeev is known to motivate people to become entrepreneurs.
