Avengers Infinity War sets records in India as well
Avengers: Infinity War is one of the biggest superhero films of all time. Already, it has broken many records around the world.
In North America, Avengers: Infinity War has already broken the record for the highest North American opening weekend.
Originally, this top spot was held by Star Wars: The Force Awakens. That movie had a record-breaking opening weekend upon its debut in 2015, making 248 million dollars in its first few days in theaters.
Avengers: Infinity War has broken that record by making 250 million dollars at the US and Canadian box offices in its opening weekend.
In India, Avengers: Infinity War has broken records as well. On Sunday, the film made ₹41.67 crore.
This took the gross box office collection (GOBC) of the film to ₹120.90 crore.
Therefore, within only its first three days of release, Avengers: Infinity War has made over ₹120 crore in India.
On Friday, Avengers: Infinity War registered ₹31.3 crore. Its GBOC on Friday was ₹40.13 crore.
On Saturday, Avengers: Infinity War registered ₹30.50 crore. Its GBOC on Saturday was ₹39.1 crore.
Therefore, in India, Avengers: Infinity War garnered ₹94.30 crore net box office collection and ₹120.90 crore gross box office collection in total.
This makes Avengers: Infinity War bigger than any Indian film released this year so far.
Padmaavat, which was a highly-publicized and controversial film, still only made ₹83 crore.
This includes the paid previews on the Thursday night before its release. The success of Avengers: Infinity War in the Indian market directly reflects how well the film is doing in the Western markets.
It is the 19th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). It combines nine franchises and stars many people from Hollywood’s A-list actors and actresses, such as Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Pratt, Scarlett Johansson, Zoe Saldana, Chris Hemsworth, and more.
