The designer of Sunny Splendor is Hari Vasudevan. He is the Founder and Managing Director of Ostrich Mobility. The aim of the company is to make personal mobility appliances for people with disabilities.
One of the best features of the Sunny Splendor is that it requires absolutely no maintenance. Many users of this spectacular vehicle found that many customers are often attracted to the shop just to find out how it works. This helped the business-doers increase their businesses. Some of the users say that they found very loyal customers.
Hari found the inspiration to make this vehicle in 2013. It was when he saw K.S. Rajanna, a differently-abled man being appointed the State Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities in Karnataka. Rajanna visited his office and asked him why he didn’t hire people with disabilities. Since they deal with heavy objects, it would be hard for disabled people to work there. However, this question remained in Hari. At that time, the idea of the vehicle came to Hari. He wanted to enable them in having a mobile shop to run small businesses.
Thus began the Sunny Splendor. It has a solar panel attached to its roof. The panel recharges the batteries with which it operates on. It is basically like an electric wheelchair like a three-wheeler. It has a lot of space to display items being sold. Eight hours of sunlight is enough to get the vehicle fully-charged.
The vehicle can run for about 45 km at a speed of 15 kilometers per hour after a complete charge.
