Rashtrapati Bhavan to reopen for public

In an official statement released on Monday, it was announced that Rashtrapati Bhavan would reopen from February 6 for the general public. 

Rashtrapati Bhavan was closed around 11 months ago due to the outbreak of COVID-19 in the country

The official statement said that Rashtrapati Bhavan will be opened for the public on all Saturdays and Sundays except on government holidays. 

To visit Rashtrapati Bhavan, visitors have to pay ₹50 each. They have to book their slots online by paying the amount.


Slots can be booked on the official websites – https://presidentofindia.gov.in or https://rashtrapatisachivalaya.gov.in/. Only 25 visitors are allowed per slot. There will be three pre-booked time slots per day. These include at 10:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m.

Visitors have to follow COVID-19 protocols like wearing a facemask, maintaining social distancing etc. while visiting Rashtrapati Bhavan.

As per media reports, the Mughal Gardens will also be reopened from February 6 to the general public. But, as of now, there was no official confirmation on this matter.

Mughal Gardens is open to the public each year in February or March. The opening dates of the garden are announced each year. The garden spreads over 15 acres. Several people visit this garden due to its beauty and historic significance. 

The garden will be open to the public for six hours from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Visitors are allowed to enter the garden on all days except Monday.

But, now as per media sources, Mughal Gardens will also be opened on all Saturdays and Sundays except on government holidays.

The registration is free for admission; however, visitors have to do it online. Those booked the admission will have to carry their identity card. Only one booking is allowed for one mobile number. 

Water bottles, briefcases, handbags, radios, cameras, umbrellas, boxes etc. are not allowed to the Mughal Gardens.
