CRPF Assistant Commandant’s wedding at Rashtrapati Bhavan
For the first time, Rashtrapati Bhavan will host a wedding ceremony on February 12. Never in her wildest dreams did Poonam Gupta imagine that her wedding would take place at Rashtrapati Bhavan.
President Droupadi Murmu granted permission for the event, impressed by the dedication and service of the bride.
According to reports, the ceremony will take place at the Mother Teresa Crown Complex within the presidential estate.
The wedding will be an intimate affair, with only close relatives and friends in attendance.
Strict security measures are in place, and all guests will be screened before entry. However, Rashtrapati Bhavan has not yet issued an official statement regarding the event.
The bride, CRPF Assistant Commandant Poonam Gupta, earned this rare honour through her exemplary service.
Currently serving as a Personal Security Officer at Rashtrapati Bhavan, she will marry Avneesh Kumar, an assistant commandant posted in Jammu and Kashmir.
Poonam and Avneesh’s shared commitment to duty and service has strengthened their bond, making this occasion even more meaningful.
Poonam Gupta has an impressive academic and professional background. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, a master’s in English Literature, and a BEd from Jiwaji University, Gwalior.
In 2018, she secured the 81st rank in the UPSC CAPF exam. Before her current role, she served in a Naxal-affected region of Bihar.
She gained national recognition when she led the CRPF’s all-women contingent during the 74th Republic Day Parade.
Poonam is passionate about women’s empowerment and education. She is known for her commitment to women’s empowerment.
She actively uses Instagram to inspire students and spread awareness about various social issues. Her posts highlight her initiatives and leadership in different campaigns.
As preparations for the wedding continue, this historic event marks a significant moment in Rashtrapati Bhavan’s legacy.
It not only reflects the President’s appreciation for dedicated service but also celebrates the achievements of women in the armed forces.
