PM to visit Varanasi on Dev Deepawali
The Dev Deepawali festival or the Diwali of the Gods takes place fifteen days after Diwali. It is celebrated in Varanasi every year. The festival is celebrated on November 12 this year.
As Prime Minister Narendra Modi is going to join the event, the festival celebrations are all set to be in a grand manner.
Several political leaders from the constituency invited the PM to join the Dev Deepawali festival when he was interacting with party workers on October 24.
After that, his visit to Varanasi was planned. Modi would also join the 550th Prakashotsav of Guru Nanak Dev Ji at the Guru Bagh Gurudwara.
Devotees believe that Guru Bagh Gurudwara had been visited by Guru Nanak Dev Ji and his footprints have been seen there.
PM Modi in his recent Mann Ki Baat said that Guru Nanak Dev secured a revered place in the hearts of several people.
Many of them followed him with utmost devotion. Modi also said Guru Nanak Ji stood firm against many social evils like untouchability.
In this context, Sardar Sukhwinder Singh, the head Granthi of the Gurudwara said that it would be a great privilege to welcome the PM on such a pious occasion.
Last year, Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath and popular Bollywood actor Anil Kapoor attended the Dev Deepawali celebrations.
All the ghats of Varanasi were lit with clay Diyas and multicolored lights on this occasion.
Many people from all over the country and tourists from various parts of the world gathered at the ghats to take a dip in the holy river Ganga and to offer prayers in the celebrations.
