Link your passport with COVID-19 vaccine certificate
Many people are using Aadhaar card while receiving a vaccination. Hence they receive the vaccine certificate with their Aadhaar number.
So far, it is difficult to change or add another ID proof in the vaccine certificate. Especially, international travellers were facing difficulties to update their passport numbers in the vaccine certificate.
Now, the central government made changes to the CoWIN portal to help international travellers in linking their passport with the COVID-19 vaccine certificate.
With these changes, vaccinated people can update their passport details in the vaccine certificate.
The complete process to link your passport with the COVID-19 vaccine certificate is mentioned below:
- Log in to your account on the official CoWIN website. Select the Account Details section and click on the Raise an Issue button.
- Click on the Passport option. Select the person you want to link by choosing from the drop-down menu and enter their passport number. Then submit. You will receive a new vaccine certificate with updated (passport) details within a few seconds.
If you want to edit or correct the details in your passport, like name correction or match the name on the passport, then you can do it as follows:
- After logging in to the CoWIN portal, choose the Raise an issue option. Then click on the Correction in Certificate option.
- Select the person, whose details you want to correct or change from the drop-down menu. Click on the options to make corrections and edit details. Then submit.
- After submitting the request, you will receive a message on the registered mobile number for confirmation. You will also receive another message after your request has been updated successfully.
- Go back to the Account Details page to download the updated certificate. Click on the Certificate button and download the new vaccine certificate.
You can enter a passport number and request a name change or correction only once. So enter your details without any mistakes.
