The girl who lost her hands in accident secures 63% in HSC exams
How would you feel, if you have to stay in hospital before preparation for your exams? How many marks could you achieve with the preparation of just 3 months? Can you imagine to secure first class marks in higher secondary exams after losing both hands in an accident? But, a young girl overcame the hurdles and achieved this with her confidence.
Monica More, a 17-year old girl of Mumabi secured 63% in her HSC exams. The girl lost her both hands in an accident last year at Ghatkopar railway station. She was in hospital for six months and with the preparation of just 3 months for the examination she achieved this. She took the help of an external writer, Aishwarya, a class 11 student to write her exams whom she taught columns & tips to write.
Monica thanked her teachers who helped her to prepare for the exams within three months of time. She also thanked Aishwarya who helped her in writing her exams.
She was fitted with myoelectronic hands, but still there is a long way to write the exams on her own. She expressed her wish to write her degree exams on her own. Monica’s parents are very happy with the results. Her mother picked up and dropped her to exam center and spent her time in canteen and staff room while Monica was giving her exams. She said that her daughter has a courage to go ahead and she doesn’t want her to depend on anybody for anything.
