Darwaza Band Campaign by Big B
In order to stop open defecation in the country, Indian government has been taken various measures.
Several advertisements have been telecasted on TVs. The government encouraged people who want to construct toilets in their homes by supporting them with certain aid etc.
The government also choose some celebrities to promote various campaigns that are held for the welfare of the citizens.
Now, Darwaza Band Campaign has been initiated to promote the usage of toilets throughout the country.
The programme is come out the Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation.
The new campaign is starting today. Big B, Amitabh Bachchan leads the campaign.
He joins with the Union Minister for Drinking Water and Sanitation, Narendra Singh Tomar, the Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and other chief dignitaries who will be attending the launch.
The formal launching event is held in Mumbai.
Amitabh Bachchan has been a big supporter and ambassador for the Swachh Bharat Mission. It is associated with the continuous campaigns of the government.
After the formal launch, the programme will be rolled out throughout the country.
The World Bank supports the programme.
The main intention of this programme is to encourage people to use toilets by bringing change in their behavior and also to put an end to open defecation in the country.
This is because some citizens do not use toilets even though their homes have been constructed with toilets.
Some other people, who are either habituated to customary open defecation or use this method with their fears etc. are also encouraged to stop such old practices and use toilets.
Anushka Sharma will also join this event. She will lead women and encourage them to stand up for this issue in their villages to bring drastic change in the behavior of their family members to use toilets for the sanitation of not just theirs but also the country’s betterment.
