Menstrual pain is a bane for almost every woman after puberty. While the intensity and the duration of the cramps can vary, their occurrence can be quite troublesome for every woman. Every month, almost every woman wishes for a way to make the pain go away quickly. Here are some great tricks that you can use during your period to get rid of cramps.
Eating Dark Chocolate
Chocolate variants are among the favorite food for most women on period. Dark chocolate has a lot of antioxidants and magnesium which can provide relief from the period cramps. Keep munching on the chocolate to get relief. Chocolate also releases endorphins (feel good hormones).
Using a Hot Water Pack
This technique has been used since ages. Fill a water bag with hot water and place it on your lower abdominal region. This will reduce inflammation and pain.
Keep yourself hydrated
Water is very important for the body to function well. Keep yourself well hydrated with water or any of your favorite fruit juice. Dehydration can increase the severity of menstrual cramps.
Use Lavender Oil
Inhaling the scent of lavender oil is found by a research to relax your muscles and reduce inflammation. This helps ease the pain.
Following those tips is not enough, there are certain things to avoid while on period. These things can increase the severity of your cramps. For example, you should avoid having coffee during the time of menstruation.
Coffee is known to increase the estrogen in your body. This can increase the intensity of the period cramps.
Furthermore, try to reduce your salt intake when on your period. The reason for this is salt can sometimes lead to bloating of the lower abdominal region. It is pretty obvious that bloating can only worsen the severity of period cramps. So, try to avoid as much salt as you can during menstruation.
