To boost immunity naturally, the Ministry of Ayush recommended certain measures. Including spices like turmeric, black pepper, cumin seeds etc., in your diet and drinking herbal tea or decoction are some of them.

Here are a few immunity boosting drinks:

Kadha mix is a traditional recipe used to relieve cough and cold. It is one of the effective natural drinks to boost immunity. Many Indians make this drink and consume it regularly. To make this drink, different types of herbs like cinnamon, cloves, black pepper, ginger, basil leaves, and cardamom are needed.

Procedure: Soak basil leaves in a glass of water overnight. The next day boil these leaves along with soaked water in a vessel. While boiling, add all other ingredients. If you need, add some more water to the drink and boil it for 10 minutes on low flame. Strain the drink. Add honey and drink it warm.

Ginger tea protects from all types of infections and improves immunity. Boil ginger root and cloves in a vessel and strain it. Add cinnamon powder and honey. Take the ingredients in your desired quantity.

Ashwagandha tea has many health benefits. Apart from boosting immunity, it relieves anxiety and stress. To make this tea, boil Ashwagandha root for 10 to 15 minutes. Strain the water and add honey to taste.

Lemon and black pepper tea is another immunity booster. While lemon is a rich source of vitamin C, black pepper is an excellent remedy to treat cough, cold and sore throat. Take one cup of boiling water and add one teaspoon of lemon juice and ¼ teaspoon of pepper. You can also add honey to the taste. Alternatively, you can add salt instead of honey.

Basil tea has multiple health benefits. Boil a handful of basil leaves and strain the leaves. Add honey and lemon juice to the boiled water and drink.
