Pay traffic challan online
Due to heavy fines under the new Motor Vehicle Act, several vehicle drivers are fined for traffic violations.
Traffic violators can pay the challan in their nearest police station and collect the receipt.
Alternatively, they can pay the challans online.
Besides imposing heavy fines to promote road safety and air quality, a digital traffic/transport enforcement solution has also been launched by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) by integrating a software.
The software works on Android operating systems.
Those who violate the rules can pay their challans online using several ways mentioned below:
You can visit the official website of MoRTH or the website of state government. You can even visit the city-specific website. The central government’s website is www.echallan.parivahan.gov.in. Click on ‘Check Challan Status’ on the home page. Enter challan number or vehicle registration number to check the challan details. Enter the captcha and click on ‘Get Details’. If you confirm the details by comparing with your challan, then proceed for a further payment on the same page. Proof of payment will be provided for your payment.
If you want to pay on the state government’s website or city-specific website, then visit the website and pay with your debit or credit card. You can even pay with Paytm, UPI and net banking.
If you want to pay using Paytm app, you can do so on your phone. However, the payment option on Paytm is available for only select cities and states. If you open the Paytm app, you will find the payment options on the home page. Tap on the ‘more’ option to see all the service options.
Scroll down to ‘City Services’ and tap on ‘Challan’. Enter the essential details after choosing your traffic authority. Pay the challan amount after choosing the mode of payment.
