As the new Motor Vehicle Act came into force from September 1, several states are implementing it to promote road safety.

Vehicle drivers are fined with hefty fines under this Act if they violate traffic rules including over speed, jumping red signal and driving the vehicle without a licence.

Many state governments are updating their road infrastructure to check traffic violations.

Speed limit violation is one of the most common offences in the traffic rule violations. In this context, 25 new cameras have been installed at 12 areas across Delhi to detect speed limit violations.
