It is difficult for bank customers to visit branches during the lockdown. Sometimes, the ATMs in their surroundings may run out of cash. It may not be possible to visit their home branch to deposit money due to lockdown norms.

In this situation, many banks decided to offer doorstep services to their customers. These banks include State Bank of India, HDFC Bank, Axis Bank, ICICI Bank, Indian Bank, and IndusInd Bank.

There are certain terms and conditions for these banks to offer these services.

Here is a list of the banks that offer doorstep services:

State Bank of India provides doorstep services after the registration has been done for Doorstep Banking (DSB) Services at the home branch. DSB services include cash pickup, cash delivery, cheque pickup, delivery of Drafts and Term Deposits, Life Certificate pickup, KYC document pickup etc. Daily cash withdrawal or deposit is restricted to ₹20,000. Service charge per visit is ₹60 plus GST for non-financial transactions and ₹100 plus GST for financial transactions.

HDFC bank provides a list of agency personnel with their customers to get DSB services. Customers can check the photo ID proof of the pickup personnel while making transactions. Customers can get more details by contacting their nearest HDFC branches.

To avail the services of ICICI bank, customers can contact their Solution Manager or call Corporate Care or SMS ‘DOORSTEP <city name> to 676766. The service is chargeable and is available only in select cities.

Axis bank customers can call a Phone Banking Officer to avail these services. Customers can use their debit card and the PIN to avail the service.

Indian bank offers this service to only KYC compliant customers, senior citizens aged above 70 years, visually challenged and differently-abled people. Service charge is same as SBI.

IndusInd bank service can be available through a request on Phone Banking. The cheque pickup is free for a minimum value of ₹10,000. One request per day for cash delivery is free and after that ₹50 is charged per request. One request for cash pickup for the week is free and after that ₹130 is charged per request.
