Banks that offer doorstep banking services
Nowadays, many people prefer to avoid contact with outsiders. Everything including jobs is done from home now due to COVID-19.
But, it is inevitable for people to go out sometimes to withdraw cash from the bank or to deposit money into the account and for similar things.
In this context, many public sector banks offer doorstep banking services to attract customers and to help them. Banks like State Bank of India (SBI), Punjab National Bank (PNB), Bank of Baroda (BOB), Union Bank of India (UBI), Bank of India (BOI), Indian Overseas Bank (IOB), Indian Bank, Central Bank of India, Canara Bank, Bank of Maharashtra, UCO Bank, and Punjab & Sindh Bank provide financial and non-financial doorstep banking services to their customers. These banks collectively offer customer-oriented services under PSB Alliance.
Besides, many private banks like HDFC, Axis Bank, ICICI, IndusInd and Kotak Mahindra also offer doorstep banking services to customers.
Financial services include cash pick up for the deposit, cash delivery for withdrawal, pick up of cheque and cheque book requisition slip. There are a minimum and maximum limit for these services. For instance, SBI restricted for cash withdrawal and cash deposit to ₹20,000 per transaction per day. The services can be availed through Debit Card and Aadhaar enabled payment system.
Non-financial services include digital life certificate, term deposit advice, account statement, standing instructions request, demand draft, pay orders, TDS and Form 16 certificate issuance, IT or GST challan with a cheque.
If you want to avail doorstep banking services through PSB Alliance, you have to log in the doorstep banking app and choose the bank from which you want to avail the service.
Enter your account number and submit. You will receive an OTP on your registered mobile number. To confirm, you have to enter the OTP. Then, all your details like bank name, account number, name etc. are visible on the app. Select the service you want and address for pick up along with time slot. Verify the request. You will receive a service request number along with all details like agent name, photo, contact information, time for pick up or delivery etc. You will have to pay service charges for availing the services. For instance, SBI charges ₹75 plus GST for financial services.
