WhatsApp to roll out short video message feature
Good news for WhatsApp users as the company is going to roll out another interesting feature for them.
According to WaBetaInfo, it is working on developing a new short video message feature. It will enable its users to send short video messages to their contacts.
WhatsApp is working on improving its functionality and multi-device capabilities. It recently launched a new app for Windows to load faster. In addition, it also announced a WhatsApp beta experience for Android tablets to load faster.
Now it is on working on the short video message feature. The new feature is available for the beta users of iOS. That is the beta version of the app for iOS 23.6.0.73 has this feature on the TestFlight.
With the new feature, users can record short videos of up to 60 seconds and share them with their contacts. The video recording is so simple that they can press the camera icon and record.
Like all other messages, these video messages are also end-to-end encrypted. That means nobody can view them except those with whom these videos are shared.
The new video message aims to improve the user experience. Despite having ways of sending text messages, voice messages and expressing feelings with emoticons on WhatsApp, the company believes video messages help convey emotions more effectively. In addition, users can express their feelings more clearly.
The new short video message feature will thus enhance the experience of users. However, as per reports, users cannot save these messages.
Also, they will not be able to forward these videos to others. That means the short video messages are more private as they will be between the recipient and the sender.
However, users can take screenshots of the videos. As of now, the company has not announced this new feature’s official release date. Since it is in the development stage, it is likely to be available to all users soon.
