DMRC offers recharge through Airtel Payments Bank
Earlier, Metro commuters had to wait in long-standing queues to recharge their smart cards. But, to help them save time for recharge their cards easily, Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) took many initiatives. Now, it launched another initiative for its passengers.
Delhi Metro passengers can recharge their smart cards through Airtel Payments Bank. To provide more recharge options to Metro passengers, DMRC partnered with Airtel Payments Bank.
As a result, Metro passengers can recharge their smart cards easily through Airtel Payments Bank.
To promote digital transactions and encourage passengers to move towards Digital India, DMRC took the initiative. It will allow commuters to recharge Metro smart cards through their mobile phones.
Delhiites can recharge their Metro smart cards in the following way:
You need to install Airtel Thanks App. Open the app and select the Metro Recharge icon. You will find it in the Bank section.
Enter the DMRC Smart Card number and the amount you want for recharge. Proceed to the payment.
Now that Recharge has been done. You have to sync the card before its usage.
For this, tap the smart card on Add Value machine at the metro station before travelling. So the amount has been added to your smart card. Your card is ready to be used for your Metro journey.
As the recharge is done through your mobile phone, it is simple. Besides, it is convenient as you can recharge whenever you need it. In addition, it is fast.
The app assures saving your card or banking details only once. So the transaction is safe and secure.
Apart from recharging through Airtel Payments Bank, Metro passengers can recharge their smart cards through various options. Some of them are through TVMS, debit or credit card transaction facilities at metro stations, UPI, mobile and e-wallets, internet banking using the website of DMRC smart card etc. In addition, DMRC launched various Metro Combo cards in association with banks.
