The increasing usage of pesticides and chemical preservatives in food items leads to severe health issues in people. That’s why many people are switching to organic products nowadays.

Francy Joshimon’s family is also one of them. Her father was diagnosed with cancer, despite following a healthy lifestyle.

Then, her family members realized that pesticides, insecticides and preservatives in food items are the reason for this. As it was difficult for them to find chemical-free products in the market, Francy decided to launch a startup that offers organic food products.

She did not study much. But she has a strong desire to bring organic foods into the market. It helped her launch her own startup, Minnus Fresh Food Products.

The startup offers organic health mixes made from jackfruit, millets etc. Minnus’ operations started at their home with the sale of jackfruit powder and other products. Francy offered them to her friends and relatives to get their feedback.

After receiving positive feedback from them, she decided to extend her business on a large-scale basis. She set up a processing unit and bought essential equipment, spending around ₹30 lakhs.

Minnus offers different types of health mixes like jackfruit mix, raw banana mix, tapioca mix, and jackfruit finger millet mix.

Puttu powder is one of the main varieties of food products offered by the startup. Puttu is a well-known breakfast item in Kerala. The startup provides puttu powder in different flavours to fulfil the needs of customers.

Francy purchased the required technology from the Kerala Agricultural University. They make puttu flours using this technology to make soft and delicious puttus. Besides, the technology improves the shelf-life of the products.

Apart from offering health mixes, Minnus sells baby foods made from natural ingredients. It offers immunity boosters as well.

In addition to that, the startup sells chilli powder, turmeric powder and various types of masala powders. Minnus claims all of its products are organic and chemical-free. Jack-fruit-based products are the best sellers of the startup.

Many women are working with Minnus. They are getting a minimum salary of ₹8,500 and insurance. Thus, Francy offers healthy and organic products. At the same time, she empowers other women.
