Youth4Jobs to help disabled youth get jobs
With great success, Meera Shenoy and her team at Youth4Jobs has success placed many people with disabilities in sectors like automobile, gems and jewelry, manufacturing, gaming, retail, front desk jobs, and plenty of other jobs.
The project was started in 2012 by Shenoy. She spent six years operating within the rural and tribal employment sector. The Youth4Jobs project was one more project by her to reach out to a vulnerable community.
The projects aim is to help youth with locomotor, speech and hearing disabilities, and individuals with low vision. Most of the youth are from rural areas and poor backgrounds.
Shenoy’s plan became a hit within just two years. She was ready to offer great opportunities to thousands of disabled people. She opened as many as eighteen coaching centres in 9 states of India. Through these centers, Youth4Jobs has provided training to over 6,100 disabled people, out of that seventy percent are placed in good positions in over two hundred firms countrywide. Youth4Jobs pays special attention to girl candidates and forty percent of all their students are women.
The main focus of Youth4Jobs coaching programme is talent development and supporting disabled students with the help of an integrated course to prepares them for numerous job opportunities.
